EXTINCT PHASMIDS/ 1900-2020 AD
About the project
Archive-collection of two species of stick insects that became extinct in the last century. Each record in the archive includes a glass dome with a handcrafted replica of the extinct insect, wandering among colored pencils and camouflaging itself among them. Along with the domes, there is a photographic appropriation of a logging operation in the tropics. The image was taken from an Internet search. A file with places and dates of extinction, plus a globe covered with pins, complete the archive.
· 2 Glass dômes. Different size each one.
· Painted ceramic paste, wire, old pencils.

EXTINCIÓN/VILLELGA
EXTINCIÓN/ VILLELGA consists of the installation of a temporary museum of all recently extinct stick insects. It is located in the middle of a disused playground in the town of Villelga (Palencia), which currently has five inhabitants. The site occupied by the swings was once a school that had a sufficient number of students. The playground has been transformed into the forest habitat of the extinct species through architectural prostheses that adapt to each swing and turn it into a constructivist sculpture.
