EXTINCT GOBIES 1920-2020 AD
About the project
Archive-collection that includes the six species of gobies that have disappeared in the last century. Gobies are small fish with muted colors and slight iridescence; they inhabit coasts, lagoons, rivers, and ponds. Each record in the archive contains a pair of modeled gobies, belonging to the same species, swimming on a mineral selenite background. A file with places of extinction and a globe covered with pins complete the archive.
6 Glass dômes. Different size each one.
Painted ceramic paste, wood, plastic, metal, gypsum cristals

EXTINCIÓN/ CERRATO
EXTINCIÓN/ CERRATO consists of the installation of a temporary museum dedicated to all recently extinct gobies. It is located inside a cave in the town of Villaconancio (Palencia). The cave is dug into the earth, like many others in the Cerrato region. The ceiling and walls of the cellar are dotted with “witch's crystals” or selenite, a gypsum mineral formed in lake environments during the Cenozoic era, when the Castilian Plateau was a basin with no outlet to the sea.
